The film was announced on 24 April 2019.[5] In May 2019 it was revealed that first schedule will be in England.[6] Kirti Kulhari was roped in to play a British cop.[7] Principal photography began in early August 2019 in London.[8] Railway scenes were shot on location on the Mid-Norfolk Railway.[9]

In 2018, it was reported that Ajay Devgn will produce the film with Abhishek Bachchan playing the lead role.[5] The film is directed by Kookie Gulati and shows the financial crimes and life of Harshad Mehta. Nikita Dutta and Ileana D'Cruz were brought in to play supporting roles.[8]

The shooting commenced on 16 September 2019.[9]

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Big Bull was released for streaming worldwide from 8 April 2021 on Hotstar.[1]

The film's music was composed by Gourov Dasgupta, Wily Frenzy and Mehul Vyas while lyrics written by Kunwar Juneja, CarryMinati and Anil Verma. Sandeep Shirodkar composed the background score.

Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV rated the movie 1.5 out of 5 stars commenting that “the film's problems are rooted in the screenplay, stilted dialogues and arbitrary character arcs.”[11] Writing for Film Companion, Rahul Desai called the movie a “rushed portrait of a slow-burned legacy” further adding that “Abhishek Bachchan’s version of Harshad Mehta is far more compelling than the story it defines”.[12] Jyoti Kanyal of India Today gave the movie 2.5 out of 5 stars calling it “an interesting watch, which often oscillates between boredom and excitement.”[13]

Ronak Kotecha of Times of India graded the film with three out of five stars and asked not to let the 'stock of expectations rise too high'. He opined that Abhishek Bachchan 'delivered a decent performance'. In conclusion of review he wrote, "Overall, The Big Bull is a decent attempt to tell a dramatic story of one of India’s biggest financial scams, orchestrated by a man, who seemed more like a common man than a con man."[14]

Chirag "Charlie" Rastogi is a young man who has been unsuccessful in whatever ventures he has partaken. Later, he is assigned the job of escorting a gorilla to a circus by the model, little realizing that it is Makwana in disguise. Along the way, a series of adventures follows as Chirag finds himself confused between both Toto and Makwana, while a female circus acrobat-cum-dancer tags along even as a forest ranger and a veterinary doctor are on the hunt for Toto.

Parasite (Korean: 기생충; RR: Gisaengchung) is a 2019 South Korean black comedy thriller film directed by Bong Joon-ho, who co-wrote the screenplay with Han Jin-won. The film, starring Song Kang-ho, Lee Sun-kyun, Cho Yeo-jeong, Choi Woo-shik, Park So-dam, Jang Hye-jin, and Lee Jung-eun, follows a poor family who scheme to become employed by a wealthy family and infiltrate their household by posing as unrelated, highly qualified individuals.

Parasite premiered at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival on 21 May 2019, where it became the first South Korean film to win the Palme d'Or. It was then released in South Korea by CJ Entertainment on 30 May 2019. The film was considered by many critics to be the best film of 2019 as well as one of the best films of the 21st century, and is the 46th highest-rated film of all-time on Metacritic. It grossed over $258 million worldwide on a production budget of about $15 million.

Among its numerous accolades, Parasite won a leading four awards at the 92nd Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best International Feature Film, becoming the first non-English language film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture.[note 1]

Parasite is the first South Korean film to receive Academy Award recognition and one of three films to win both the Palme d'Or and the Academy Award for Best Picture.[note 2] It won the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film and the BAFTA Award for Best Film Not in the English Language, and became the first non-English language film to win the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. At the 56th Grand Bell Awards and the 40th Blue Dragon Film Awards, Parasite had eleven nominations with five wins. At the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards, it had twelve nominations with three wins.
