ABOUT CHHALAANG 2020
Chhalaang is a 2020 Indian Hindi-language comedy film directed by Hansal Mehta starring Rajkummar Rao and Nushrat Bharucha.[2] It is produced by Ajay Devgan, Luv Ranjan, Ankur Garg and presented by Bhushan Kumar.[3][4][5][6] The film was released on 13 November 2020 on Amazon Prime Video coinciding with Diwali.[1]
Mahender Singh Hooda, aka Montu, lives with his father, Kamlesh Singh Hooda, His Mother and his younger brother. He is a happy go lucky small physical training instructor (PTI) inadvertently attracted to the new computer teacher, Neelima "Neelu" Mehra. He faces competition from a new senior PTI, Inder Mohan Singh, who excels where Montu performs weakly. However, when Montu and Inder have an argument, they decide to settle their dispute by pitting their teams against one another. But, Montu's Younger brother Monty is in Singh's Team. In the end, Montu's Team wins, and Singh and Montu agree to work side by side and Neelima approves the relationship between Montu and Her.

Hansal Mehta announced the film on 10 August 2018 with the title "Turram Khan" and Rajkummar Rao and Nushrat Bharucha in the lead roles. In 2019, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub joined the film to portray a supporting role.
Principal photography for the film began in late-2018. In June 2019, Rao and Mehta, along with Ayyub, were spotted filming a kabaddi scene in Mumbai's Film City.[8]
In December 2019, the title of the film was changed to "Chhalaang",[9] which means "Jump".[10]
Initially planned for release on 31 January 2020, it was announced on 26 December 2019 that the film has been postponed to 13 March 2020. It was further scheduled to 12 June 2020.[11] Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film was again postponed.[12] Finally it was released on 13 November 2020 on Amazon Prime Video coinciding with Diwali.[1]
Anupama Chopra Editor-in-Chief of Film Companion wrote, "Hansal Mehta and Rajkummar Rao constitute one of Hindi cinema’s most potent artistic collaborations. Their films – Shahid, for which Rajkummar won a National Award, City Lights, Aligarh, Omerta – are blistering, probing portraits of the state of our world. In Chhalaang, Hansal and Rajkummar attempt something more mainstream. They tell the uplifting story of a PT teacher in small-town Haryana, who finds his purpose in life through coaching the weakest kids in the school into a winning team. I suspect this conventional narrative went against their DNA. Chhalaang isn’t tear-your-hair-out awful. It’s just ordinary."[13]
The film's music was composed by Hitesh Sonik, Guru Randhawa–Vee, Yo Yo Honey Singh and Vishal–Shekhar while lyrics written by Luv Ranjan, Guru Randhawa, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Alfaaz, Hommie Dilliwala and Panchhi Jalonvi.
The song "Deedar De" is a recreation of "Deedar De" from the film Dus by Vishal–Shekhar.[15] People online criticized Vishal-Shekhar for recreating their song, but the duo clarified that they did not recreate the song, they were credited because they composed the original.[16]
